Have had an epiphany this last couple of weeks. I recently bought the iphone camera stand, started my blogging videos and voila realised after so long of putting it off and making excuses that it was and is really easy and quite fun. Once you get over the feeling of talking to yourself and staring into a camera!! What I did also realise is that it is some of our basic morning routines, first thing in the day that can make or break what we do later in the day. I found myself thinking about blogging, wanting to do it, yet using the fact that I hadn’t put my make up on or done my hair nicely as a great excuse to not record. Remember working from home mum who is invariably on days doing drop off in gym gear etc.
You know what, I realised that my choices first thing in the day dictated the rest of my day and in essence my productivity. So what are you not doing, because you enable excuses or reasons, that seem perfectly logical to hinder you, slow you down or simply stop you from being more productive, efficient or effective. What is something you really want to have, that if you stopped doing something else, you could in effect actually start doing the very thing that you really want to have happen?
Curious, what is it for you?
Every morning now, I get my sport done earlier… I then get my face on, get myself dressed nicely, ready for the meetings, ready for the camera and what a difference it makes. Remember it’s the littlest things that make the biggest difference!
